Event dedicated to the “Year of Nasimi” held in Dubai

On November 18, 2019 a lecture about the poetry and legacy of great Azerbaijani poet Imadeddin Nasimi was delivered for students of Middlesex Univesity in Dubai. The event was dedicated to commemoration of 650th anniversary since the birth of the poet.

Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Dubai Javidan Huseynov noted that 2019 has been declared as the “Year of Nasimi” in Azerbaijan by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev.

In addition, Consul General  informed the students that the poet’s anniversary was included in the UNESCO's list of outstanding personalities and significant events.

The event followed by the lecture about the poet’s historical background and poetry.
